Gameplay Reveal payday 3 Definitely one of the show’s biggest surprises during the Xbox Showcase. Payday is a popular series, especially on PC, but it doesn’t often get the limelight in the mainstream.
While the trailer is well put together, it looks like a new payday. It’s hard to appreciate the nuances of what we’re seeing, of course, setting aside the updated visuals and higher production quality compared to Payday 2.
Developer Starbreeze seems to agree, as it’s putting together a series of developer diaries in an attempt to highlight the how and why, and explain why this is the most advanced payday yet. The first episode reveals some exciting gameplay updates for the heist game.
They are all related to the interaction between robbers and civilians. For starters, the game no longer operates on the binary of stealth and loudness. Things won’t escalate immediately if you try to be sneaky at first.
Now enter the search phase, the security guards will start looking for you.be a policeman Do Arriving, you won’t get the full power of the NYPD right away. Instead, first responders showed up to try to de-escalate the situation. This is where the hostages come in.
The civilians you hold hostage can now be traded to either buy your team time to get the job done before the big guy shows up, or to get more resources on a mission. Even more brazenly, you can use civilians as human shields, presumably to make the cops who shoot you hesitate and make it easier for them to slip away.
While the story has moved to New York City, the original gang is back. More members will join after launch, and you can expect plenty of collaborations in the future. Payday 2 received more than 30, but Starbreeze was keen to pick a true crossover for the world.
Payday 3 is Day One Game Pass title on PC and Xbox Series X/S. It’s also coming to PS5 on the same day, September 21st.
