CipSoft has announced a comeback in the MMORPG genre with Persist Online – and is also making use of zombies.
CipSoft first attracted attention in 1997 with one of the first MMORPGs ever, when it released Tibia. Almost 28 years after the release of this title, the company is now returning to the online role-playing game genre: with Persist Online.
The newly announced title is an MMORPG in which you have to fight all kinds of zombies with firearms and melee weapons. Persist Online sees itself as a real old-school MMORPG in which hundreds of players hang out together on one server and have the greatest possible freedom. In the post-apocalyptic open game world, fellow players can be an advantage, but fellow players are also a constant threat to your own loot.
The main features of Persist Online include zombie hordes and mutated boss enemies that pose a real challenge for you and other survivors, plenty of PvP action, a large selection of weapons and a merciless open game world. Speaking of weapons: you can even defend yourself with a sturdy frying pan, for example.
The game is initially scheduled to be released for Windows, macOS and Linux via Steam; there is no release date yet. However, Early Access is due to start soon, through which the game will then be further developed together with the community.
