New Persona titles have recently appeared as PlayStation exclusives, but that is rumored to change with the new Persona 6. The upcoming game in the successful series is intended to become a multiplatform title and even include the Switch 2 as a platform.
In the past, the numbered main parts of the successful Persona series appeared exclusively on Sony’s PlayStation consoles, but according to reports that will be the case with the next part, Persona 6. There are therefore increasing signs that the upcoming game will make its multiplatform debut instead of coming to other platforms later in ported form, as was the case in the past. The most recently released game within the franchise, Persona 3 Reload, was also placed on multiple platforms.
Persona 6 should continue this trend, although according to the renowned leaker Nate the Hate, a launch on the Xbox consoles is a done deal. However, at least an appearance on Xbox Game Pass is probably rather unlikely.
After the leak about an Xbox version, the SEGA leaker Midori spoke up, who was extremely reliable with his information and statements last year 2023 and regularly hit the mark. He initially confirmed that he had also received information about an Xbox version, but went one step further. When asked whether there might also be an implementation for the Switch 2, he simply and clearly answered “Yes”. So for now it looks good that Persona 6 could appear not only for PlayStation and Xbox, but also for the Switch successor.
Midori had previously brought two other Atlus RPGs into play as potential titles for the Switch 2: Persona 3 Reload and the upcoming Metaphor: ReFantazio are also set to be released for the new Nintendo console, which, according to recent rumors, are expected to appear in the first quarter of 2025 could. We will of course keep you updated about further developments!
