Phil Spencer just announced that four Xbox games will be released on different consoles, but Xbox’s “basic exclusivity strategy” will not change

This news comes from a new entry on the Official Xbox Podcast. Phil Spencer continued: “We make every decision with the long-term health of Xbox in mind.” Phil Spencer didn’t specify what those games would be, but did note that they wouldn’t include Starfield or Starfield. Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Spencer said the games are more than a year old. Some of these games will be “community driven.” Then there will be two smaller games coming to other platforms, which Spencer said were “never really intended to be hyped as platform exclusives.”

“In five to 10 years, exclusives are going to be a smaller and smaller part of the video game industry,” Spencer said. He went on to say that wasn’t a great insight, pointing to the past decade and the recent big How scale releases are released across multiple platforms.

Matt Booty (Head of Xbox Game Studios) also added that while the four games will be moving to other platforms, Games Pass will not be leaving Xbox. Sarah Bond (Xbox President) added that this includes Activision Blizzard games coming to the service as well. The first of these includes Diablo 4, which will be coming to Game Pass starting on March 28.

So when will we know which games will break through? Obviously, all developers involved will make their own announcements in due course. So, it seems we must remain vigilant and vigilant.
