Many personalities from the gaming industry have commented on the first public appearance of Unreal Engine 5. Among these personalities was Phil Spencer, the big boss of Microsoft's Xbox division. Behind Congratulations to Epic Games, Phil Spencer recalls that games appearing on Xbox Series X will turn using the engine from Cary's studio:
Incredible work by the team at Epic @UnrealEngine, many of our XGS studios are using Unreal, like the team at Ninja Theory creating Hellblade II, and are excited to bring these UE5 innovations to life on Xbox Series X. https://t.co/HGNTY1eTgq

Epic has done an incredible job (on the Unreal Engine 5). Many of our Xbox Game Studios currently use Unreal Engine, including Ninja Theory which is currently creating Hellblade II. We are excited to bring all of these Unreal Engine 5 innovations to life on Xbox Series X.
The Unreal Engine 4 is an engine very frequently used by games running on Xbox One. Gears 5 exploits for example the previous version of the engine of Epic Games. It is therefore interesting to note that Phil Spencer felt the need to recall that the Unreal Engine 5 will also run games on Xbox Series X, which Epic has never hidden.
