So far, the Xbox Series X does not seem to have encountered any delays, but gaming is another matter.
Xbox director Phil Spencer reiterated his previous comments, Xbox Series X Hardware production did not encounter any major delays, which proves that the next generation of game consoles is still expected to be launched during the holidays.
In an interview with CNBC, Spencer said that although coronavirus does have a small impact on the hardware of some programs, the bigger question is how much this impact will affect the game development schedule.
"The team has done a very good job keeping our hardware up and running. The biggest unknown I want to say is probably game production – frankly," Spencer said.
"Game production is now a large-scale entertainment event. You have hundreds of people gathered to build assets for creative work. On the hardware side, we are satisfied with the plan and obviously have some impact on the schedule, but overall, we In line with our expectations. "
Spencer added that the industry is learning how to best respond to the impact of the global blockade every day. He also made it clear that he will not rush to complete the task on time.
He added: "We are learning every day, and I still feel good about it, but I also need to ensure that the safety of the team is the most important thing, and don't push too much when things are not ready.
Later this week, we will introduce some third-party Xbox Series X games for the first time in a special show on Inside Xbox, including the recently announced Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Microsoft will show off the work of its internal team later this summer.
