In addition to Death Stranding 2, Hideo Kojima brought another surprise for this State of Play in early 2024. Titled PHYSINT, it is a new action and espionage project that sounds like a return to the sources for the creator of Metal Gear Solid.
After a long trailer for Death Stranding 2 On The Beach, Hideo Kojima appeared in front of the camera together with PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst to talk about a new project: PHYSINT. In a long message posted on X (formerly Twitter), the creator said the following:
“PHYSINT (working title) will be our third original IP since the founding of Kojima Productions. It is a completely new “action spy game” for a new generation. It is created using “state-of-the-art technology” Talented people from all over the world, whether they work in cinema or video games. It’s an interactive “game”, of course, but also a film in terms of look, story, theme, cast, acting, fashion and tone. Our goal for the next level of “digital entertainment”.
