Fans of building games and especially the Settlers series probably know the name Vorker Wertich. Under his direction, a new genre representative is currently being created with Pioneers of Pagonia.
Indie studio Envision Entertainment has announced a new strategy game, Pioneers of Pagonia. The game is being developed under the creative direction of Volker Wertich, the forefather of the famous Settlers series. It is currently planned that Pioneers of Pagonia will be released for PC and from the end of 2023 on Steam
According to his own statement, Wertich wants to return to the origins of the construction simulation with thousands of inhabitants scurrying around with Pioneers of Pagonia. This should particularly please disappointed settler fans who are not entirely happy with the current direction of the series.
Pioneers of Pagonia is a game world simulation all about discovering and exploring the islands of Pagonia and forging alliances with its inhabitants. Exploring the island worlds plays an important role, because there are lost treasures, underground resources, fertile lands and hidden places to discover and not all inhabitants are peaceful. A co-op mode is also planned.
More than 40 different building types, more than 70 different goods and branched production chains should already be playable in Early Access. All goods transport, manufacturing processes and discoveries of the population are presented through loving animations and can be followed from start to finish. Thanks to the procedurally generated maps, there are countless variations for varied gaming experiences.
Volker Wertich, forefather of the Siedler series, is working with a new studio on his own development game called Pioneers of Pagonia. There are first impressions in the trailer.
