In 2016, the first Planet Coaster made you the owner of your own amusement park. Now Frontier Developments has announced the direct successor, Planet Coaster 2.
The biggest innovation in the recently announced Planet Coaster 2 is likely to be the whitewater parks that you can build. These go hand in hand with the classic amusement parks that are designed to attract guests with roller coasters and other rides. The new buildings include water rides and various types of swimming pools.

But you can’t just build new attractions, the studio also promises refreshed favorites, revised decorations and lots of mascots. Thanks to the piece-by-piece construction, you can gradually build your perfect bathing paradise. Examples include a plunge pool right on the beach or a tropical paradise with strong current channels.
Of course, some of the previous game’s functions have been revised for Planet Coaster 2. The path creation tools have been significantly improved and you can finally create small spaces. New management tools also ensure that you keep your guests entertained. Everything from technical maintenance to cleanliness can be managed. Thanks to heat maps, you can see straight away where things are going wrong and what needs to be improved. Sunscreen and umbrellas for shade are of course important on sunny summer days.
In Planet Coaster 2, you can even take turns with your friends in the role of park manager. In franchise mode, however, you compete against other players and, of course, you can look for new works in the Frontier Workshop.
Planet Coaster 2 is scheduled to be released in fall 2024. The PC will be served via Steam and Epic, and there will also be versions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
