News JVTech Plants that turn on the light: this company’s crazy project
In the world of technology, there are not only big brands like Sony, Apple or Samsung. Amidst all this there are some startups trying to innovate and this is the case with this very special Spanish company.
Cities powered by nature
The future may seem quite uncertain, sometimes bleak, but some companies are still trying to improve our future. This is the case of Bioo, a company founded in 2015 with a focus on biotechnology. Bioo promises to generate electricity from certain natural elements, such as plants, and use it very easily.
The company is currently working on several projects, such as the Bio Panel, which will provide light points with plants, but in addition to cleaning the air, it also aims to save water. Bioo estimates that this technology could save up to 334 g/m² of CO² per year.
In another register, the company wants to build a bioswitch system that can turn on a light simply by touching a plant. Bioo’s goal is to create tomorrow’s systems that are above all durable. The lifespan of an object has become a real issue, especially when many brands are accused of planned obsolescence. Bioo is a Spanish company that has won no fewer than 117 international awards thanks to its projects and various prototypes.
Apart from this specific area, Bioo intends to develop useful tools in specific sectors, especially in the agricultural one.. The company is working on the Agritech project by developing sensors for agriculture powered directly from the earth via organic matter. The aim is to completely dispense with chemical solutions and high-maintenance solar panels.
Of course, his flagship product remains the biological switch, since its use can be easily managed by individuals. Just touch a plant to light up its pot and create a small atmosphere in your living room.
opportunities for the future
Bioo is therefore evolving on several levels. On the one hand products for private individuals such as biological switches and on the other hand professional environments, especially agricultural.
The teams work on different projects to promote their technologies and gain some legitimacy. During the MWC (Mobile World Congress), the company presented its new prototypes to the general public and tech professionals.
Its premises house chemists, biologists and engineers to build new, more efficient and sophisticated systems. Bioo wants to build smart cities that can generate their own energy thanks to plants.
