The Gearbox development team has responded to some inconsistencies in the story campaign in the course of the new update for Borderlands 3. Many players simply had too high a level for some areas, as Gearbox now announced.
Gearbox makes the story harder
The new patch is supposed to help make the story as demanding as it should be in the eyes of the developers and adjusts the level of the opponents to yours:
"We noticed that new players always entered certain areas at too high a level for the content they were playing, which made these areas too easy because the opponents were much weaker than intended at this point in the game.
We also saw that some side missions were largely ignored in the later game because of these balance irregularities. With the balance adjustments we bring the opponents back to the average level with which the players enter these locations. "
However, this update does not apply to all regions in the game. Only the areas "The Anvil" and "Nekrotafeyo" are mainly affected. And only if you send a new character to these areas.
Already existing characters are not affected by the new feature: Playing through the story will only be more difficult for Steam players (after all, the Steam version will only be released this evening, the hotfix is already live) and players on consoles and from the Epic Games Store who are looking for a new challenge.
Some legendary weapons are getting stronger
However, other bugs and problems criticized by players are also to be fixed. For example, there was a bug where the Jabbermogwai dropped less loot than planned. Also numerous changes to some weapons were carried out, for example on the Sickle, the Hellfire or the One Pump Chump. In the blog post of the developer you get a complete overview of the changes of the hotfix. The hotfix has been active on the live servers since last night.
If you can’t wait, Borderlands 3 also play on Steam To be able to, we recommend our overview with all information about the Steam version to you.
