Krafton has released the new update 12.2 on the PUBG test server, giving the first go-ahead for the new Map Taego, which will soon also be available on the live servers.
With the release of the PUBG update to version 12.2 on the test server, the new Map Taego is casting its shadow. This is a new 8×8 map set in South Korea in the 1980s. This should then also be launched on the live servers in the coming months.
Accordingly, the launch of version 12.2 is planned for the coming week for July 7th on the PC. The console versions of the game only have to wait a little longer, because the update including Taego will be available there from July 15th.
The makers say in a statement about the test release of Taego: “PUBG Studios have created unique maps of varying sizes, and we’re excited to finally unveil a Korean-themed map – Taego. We hope that both new and experienced PUBG players will enjoy the new gameplay mechanics, features and elements on the new card. “
On Taego you can expect extensive reed fields as well as narrow rooms within the Hosan prison. With Comeback-BR (enables a second chance) and self-AED (an item for your own resuscitation), the new 8×8 card also has some exclusive features. With the release of the map, there will also be a new survivor pass with 50 levels and a variety of rewards.
Last but not least, the previously announced live-action short film “Ground Zero” has now also started. This takes place in Taego’s Hosan prison. The film with Don Lee (“Marvel Studios’ Eternals “,” Train To Busan “) is set in the PUBG universe and shows Lee as a notorious inmate trying to break out of an enemy prison. The short film ties in directly to the lore of the new Taego map.
