On the test server of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds you can now take a first look at the new content in Season 6 before it goes live on the regular servers. As usual, the start of a new season brings with it several major changes, especially a new map.
This is called Karakin and will ultimately be the smallest card in the Battle Royale shooter. Translated also means: Karakin promises the most intense fights in the action title. As already mentioned, you can convince yourself of this on the test server.
It is an isolated island with a size of 2×2 km, which is only half the size of Sanhok – and that is the smallest map in PUBG so far. Thanks to the manageable size, the card only supports 64 players and no longer the standard 100 of a Battle Royale game. In addition to mountains, there are also city-based fights and more.
The new map also focuses on a new danger: the so-called black zones. These are a similar threat to the Red Zones on other maps and can be found at random intervals in different areas of the map. There is a rocket fire that could even destroy buildings in the region. This means that there will be fewer cover options later in the game.
Season 6 will also feature a new Survivor Pass called "Shakedown", which will include new cosmetic items and new missions. Community missions are also planned for a later date and will be available to all players. Season 6 will start live on PC on January 22, 2020; the console versions should follow shortly afterwards.
