News from the leak department: A new version of the Playstation 5 controller appeared at Best Buy and it could fix what is probably the gamepad’s biggest weakness.
That’s exciting. In the Best Buy Canada online store The PlayStation 5 V2 DualSense Wireless Controller has appeared and with some interesting feature information. At least as of writing this news, the store link is still active.
On the outside, based on the product images, there are no visible differences to the previous DualSense controller, but the feature list makes a huge difference. The battery life is stated to be up to 12 hours. That would be a significant improvement over the current model, which usually fails after just five to six hours. If that’s true, the new model would fix the DualSense’s biggest weakness – albeit for the hefty price of just under $90.
However, the price is put into perspective a little by another extra that is mentioned in the list. Accordingly, the DualSense V2 should be delivered in a bundle with a charging station. If that’s true, the DualSense V2 would certainly be an interesting option for many PlayStation gamers. The question remains whether the potentially new controller will have fewer stick drift problems than its predecessor.
The information from Best Buy should still be viewed with caution, as an official announcement from Sony has not yet been made. However, the information looks quite concrete and a new version of the controller with the above-mentioned features would definitely make sense. Since the cat is now apparently out of the bag, an official statement from Sony should be expected soon. As long as there is something to it.
