Inspired by the character of Astroboy by Osamu Tezuka and written by the genius Naoki Urasawathis adaptation tells the story of Face, a robot detective working for Europol who is investigating a series of murders involving both robots and humans. However, as the plot progresses, the evidence suggests that a robot is behind all these crimes.
Pluto is one of the great works of Urasawa, an author considered by many to be the Japan’s best mangaka. Other masterpieces like 20th Century Boys support his career, and this adaptation produced by Netflix could further raise the prestige of this writer who already surprised everyone with the adaptation of Monster.
Regarding the anime of PlutoNetflix has confirmed that it will be a series of 8 episodes, each lasting one hour, and that it will premiere on the US platform next October 28, 2023.
