Pokémon Go Players have reported a progress-breaking bug that resets the third step of the special research mission A Mystic Hero.
This part of the quest challenges you to evolve 10 Pokemon, win 5 candies with your buddy Pokemon, and make 3 great throws.
Players started noticing the problem overnight, and I first noticed it when my mom called me and cursed a blue streak. She just finished that part of the mission, and before the fourth part pops up, the game resets the mission to the third part.
She’s not the only one upset: all you have to do is check out the Pokemon Go subreddit and The Silph Road to see how many people are affected — myself included.
Pokemon Go players haven’t been happy with developer Niantic Labs lately after the Remote Raid Pass price hike and restrictions imposed on remote raids for 24 hours. But now, the progress-destroying bug is said to have reached at least Defcon 3.
As of press time, Niantic hadn’t addressed the issue on its social media channels, instead being filled with comments from last weekend’s Togetic Community Day, the upcoming Swinub Community Day Classic, and the upcoming Monster Hunter Now game with Capcom. The studio also didn’t add the bug to its list of known issues.
Let’s hope Niantic fixes this issue soon and keeps the community informed about what’s going on and progress towards resolving this issue. However, the company isn’t known for being very chatty in the communications department, and the possibility that we’ll still need to rework the mission – even if it’s fixed – is a pretty safe bet.
