Niantic Labs announces Lush Jungle event Pokemon Goand Cottonee, will be the stars of the weekend spotlight.
The Lush Jungle event will begin on Tuesday, March 22nd at 10am local time and end on Tuesday, March 29th at 8pm local time.
Join fellow trainers for a Lush Jungle Park Spotlight featuring Cottonee on Saturday, March 26th at 10am local time. During this time, dual-type grass/fairy Pokemon will appear in the park more frequently, and you may even encounter Shiny ones. The Spotlight event will end on Sunday, March 27th at 8pm local time.
The Lush Jungle event will also see the debut of the Sickle Grass Pokemon Fomantis and Bloom Sickle Pokemon Lurantis. Also on stage is Taplele, the patron saint of Akara Island. The latter will appear in 5-star raids.
Since the event is part of Season of Alora, a second special research story, Akara Island, will be available at the start of the event. There will also be timed research focused on catching Grass-type Pokemon and exploring your area throughout the event. If you complete your research, you’ll get items and encounter various event-themed Pokemon, such as Fomantis.
During this time, the following Pokemon will appear in the wild more frequently: Metapod, Paras, Exeggcute, Hoothoot, Sudowoodo, Fomantis, and Ferroseed. In addition to Metapod and Fomantis, there will also be shiny versions of the above. If you’re lucky, you might even come across a shiny Pinsir.
With raids, you can expect the following Pokemon in one-star raids: Bellsprout, Tangela, Sewaddle, and Cottonee. Three-star raids will feature Butterfree, Vileplume, Parasect and Exeggutor. Tapu Lele will be the Pokemon in the 5-star raid, and Mega Charizard Y will be the boss of the Mega Raid.
Finally, Field Research mission completion will reward you with encounters with the following Pokemon: Caterpie, Exeggcute, Sunkern, Wurmple, Seedot, Cottonee, Ferroseed, and Fomantis. You might even come across some of these shiny ones, and if you’re really lucky, you’ll come across Parasect or a shiny version of Paras.
