Project Athia, the mysterious Square Enix game revealed during the PS5 showcase, will remain Sony exclusive for a while. The only question is how long? There is now a clear answer to that.
In a new trailer for the upcoming PS5 line-up, Sony again pointed out the existence of Project Athia. The previously somewhat mysterious Square Enix title was first revealed during the PS5 event in June. Since then it has been quiet about the project.
Thanks to the new trailer, we now know a little more. As soon as it appears one day, the title will only be available for Sony’s next-gen console – at least for a certain time. Project Athia will not be playable on other consoles for two years. Unsurprisingly, as Sony often grabs Square Enix’s new title first. So most recently in the case of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and probably also Final Fantay 16.
In addition, the trailer gives some interesting pointers on how I convert Sony’s release plans. Most recently, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart should appear in the first half of 2021, which is no longer the case. For Horizon: Forbidden West, the company is now keeping all cards open for the coming year. The latter was planned for the second half of 2021.
