Have you ever heard of Project TH? Probably not. The game by the South Korean developer EVR Studio doesn’t exactly impress with a catchy name and so far seems to have been flying under the radar in the gaming landscape.
The Splinter Cell-inspired project comes with a pretty impressive trailer that should appeal primarily to fans of tactical shooters with a single-player focus. So, before we get to the hard facts, you might want to check out the official Project TH trailer for yourself.
This is what Project TH looks like: It not only reveals the impressive graphics, there are also a few gameplay snippets to see.

What kind of game will Project TH?
Die Story: Project TH is set in near-future Korea, where South and North have been reunited. The focus is on three characters: Ji Jeong Tae, a former North Korean soldier who comes to the South on a military exchange program. Gavi, a member of a K-pop group called Ordo and a mysterious terrorist nicknamed the Ghost.
By the way, the TH in the game title TH stands for Two Hearts
– if two hearts
– which are intended to symbolize the separation of the two (formerly) hostile countries with different political convictions.
From Gameplay: Project TH is described by its developers as a mix of interactive drama and action-adventure. So the game shouldn’t necessarily be a thoroughbred tactical shooter. However, the EVR studios also emphasize that there is a focus on infiltration and action-packed combat scenarios that we control from a third-person perspective. One Tech demo on YouTube playfully reminds a bit of Quantic Dream games like Heavy Rain.
By the way: If you are more interested in classic shooters coming out this year, we can of course help you. In the following overview you will find the most exciting representatives of the genre that you should have on your screen in 2023.

Who is behind this?
Project TH is created by the South Korean developer EVR Studios, which so far has only developed the virtual reality game ProjectM: Dream respectively ProjectM: Daydream published. This is a dating sim with a virtual reality focus, which convinces more with its graphics and less with the gameplay.
Steam users tend to disagree about ProjectM: Daydream, above all the brevity of the five-euro sim and its dialogues are criticized. There is a lot of praise for the graphics and presentation, which makes players optimistic about the future of VR.
It remains to be seen whether EVR Studios could create an action-adventure or stealth shooter of the Splinter Cell caliber, which the developers are orienting themselves towards. Because apart from the impressive graphics from the VR game ProjectM, the team doesn’t have too much to show for it. At least the first trailer makes you curious, so you can definitely keep an eye on Project TH – even if cautious skepticism is of course appropriate.
On the other hand, if you are waiting for the right Splinter Cell, we have good news for you. In fact, Ubisoft is working on a remake of the very first part, created in The Division 2’s Snowdrop engine. You can find out how much Petra, Michi and Markus wanted this in the following video:
