Gaming News PS5: Gamers offer their opinions on the DualSense features and are not sure if Sony appreciates them
On November 19, 2020, the PlayStation 5 arrived with a strong case: its multi-featured DualSense. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be unanimous… Which Sony won’t like.
The DualSense, the argument of the PlayStation 5?
When the PlayStation 5 was launched, the specialists agreed: The DualSense, the controller for Sony’s latest machine, brings a lot of immersion. To make this happen, simply turn to a few PlayStation exclusives. We think, of course, of Astro’s Playroom, the game that comes with the console, but also of Returnal or even Gran Turismo 7. The first game, for example, makes perfect use of the haptic feedback that allows to precisely feel what’s happening in the game thanks to vibrations, like rain or wind. The second and third productions have fun with the adaptive triggers, which, on the one hand, allow you to change the functionality of a weapon in real time, and on the other hand, feel the power of the brakes under your fingers. But Despite all these ideas, the controller does not seem to be suitable for the largest number.
On ResetEra, a poll asks the following question: “To what extent do the specifics of the PS5 contribute to your enjoyment of gaming on the platform?”. The result will of course surprise you.
A poll that hurts
More than 1,500 people played the game by answering the questionnaire available on ResetEra. And what we remember is that more than 1/4 of the voters admit that the DualSense is a plus, but unfortunately after a certain time these contributions are no longer noticeable.
23.2% of the voters only stated that the functionality of the controller was completely irrelevant to them. Worse, 13.2% of the participants stated that they deactivate the various DualSense functionalities in order not to be disturbed in the game. If you counted correctly, there are still a few voters left. And that’s quite normal, because 36.7% of the votes cast chose the option “improves my gaming experience significantly”.
What should be remembered from this small poll is that almost 65% of gamers could do without the various DualSense gadgets entirely. News that Sony obviously won’t like… And you, are you more for or against the arguments of the PlayStation 5 controller?
