Sony particularly insisted on its next games in virtual reality at its last State of Play. With Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead, Horizon and No Man’s Sky headlining, the PSVR catalog is once again enriched with great releases. But what players are waiting for is mostly PSVR2 news. In this regard, a recent leak could indicate an exit window for the headset dedicated to virtual reality.

Games galore…but no support

Sony recently held its latest Game Status dated. The opportunity for gamers to discover some of the new features of the Playstation catalogue. In spite of Resident Evil 4 Remake Headline, The announcements put more emphasis on virtual reality with images of the VR edition of Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2, No Man’s Sky and finally Horizon: Call of the Mountain.

If all these games are already available on PSVR or should be released soon on Sony’s dedicated virtual reality headset, Some of these titles are planned for PSVR2 at an unspecified date. And for a good reason: Sony’s new headphones don’t have a release date yet. A situation caused, like the lack of console supplies, due to the component crisis. But in terms of a possible release date, It’s possible that Sony has missed an important piece of information.

PSVR2: Coming in 2023

It is save The granted ticket for The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 on the Playstation Blog that you could read the mention “planned for Meta Quest and PSVR in 2022 – and PSVR2 in 2023”.

The mention has since been changed, but it appears that Sony, or rather Skydance Interactive, spilled the beans on the release of the giant’s latest VR headset.

This news, which is undoubtedly disappointing for some, remains quite logical, while several industry players had already announced their date unofficially. This applies in particular to Ross Young, President of Display Display Supply Chain Consultants, who announced the headset’s release date last April. According to the data subject PSVR2 is scheduled to be available in the first quarter of 2023. We are therefore awaiting an official date from Sony, information that could be communicated very quickly given the trade fairs that are about to take place.
