Diablo 4 is coming soon, in one Livestream there was now a lot of additional information and news about the action role-playing game. While the big highlight was the announcement of another beta, there were more interesting things to see and hear. Among other things, the developers went into the PvP mode, which will probably not be a cakewalk.
That’s how hard PvP mode gets
Diablo 4’s PvP mode is an optional pursuit in Diablo 4 that’s best for high-level players. In the live stream, the developers are now making it clear that chaos should reign in the PvP zones distributed across the game world, the so-called fields of hate:
The Fields of Hatred that we have in Diablo 4 are not places of honor but places of carnage. So when you go to the fields, you should remember that you are entering a chaotic realm of danger and menace. That’s the fantasy. That’s what we want to make of it.
What that means is explained in more detail in the live stream: There would simply be no mechanics or rules that would protect individual players from groupswho specifically hunt them down. You may well encounter stronger opponents, although we want to ensure that you don’t have to face off against the most experienced warriors at a low level.
However, it becomes particularly difficult if you play in hardcore mode. Every death here means the loss of your entire character. Dying in PvP battles is no exception here either, like it is now confirmed by the developers became. In Diablo 3, PvP battles still took place in protected arenas and let you live on in hardcore mode after a defeat.
What is the PvP mode for anyway?
If you’re wondering why you should take that risk in the first place, there are two answers. On the one hand, the PvP mode serves as an additional challenge for very experienced players who have already perfected their build.
In addition, so-called Seeds of Hatred await in PvP areas, which can be refined and exchanged for unique cosmetic objects.
What do you think of the extremely dangerous PvP mode in Diablo 4? Do you think the unrestrained fighting suits the dark atmosphere that the action role-playing game wants to establish? Or would you rather wish for honorable duels between equal opponents? Write us in the comments!
