A new set of actions will be available to players Ares Ragnarok.
This is according to Game Informer who spoke with the game’s main combat designer.
In the game, triangle attack has been changed to weapon signature move, you can use Leviathan Axe or Chaos Blade. Kratos can infuse a weapon with ice or fire – known as Frost Awakening and Whipping. These elemental powers will help deal additional damage to enemies by freezing or igniting them.
The game will also feature new shields: Dauntless and Stonewall.
The Dreadnought Shield is great for parrying, glowing red when you can smash enemies to “toss and stun” them. Stonewall shields don’t allow parrying, but are great for tanks. The more hits the shield takes, the more kinetic energy it absorbs. When fully charged, hitting it on the ground creates a pulse that knocks enemies down.
“We’re trying to create systems that you want to be involved in that are fun, very playful, and have a lot of different routes,” said lead combat designer Mihir Sheth. “When we looked at the fight from the last game, we were like, ‘We can push this further; we can find new toys and ways to play with enemies and strategies.’ That’s the most important guiding principle.”
God of War: Ragnarok launches on November 9, and it looks like it will have a nice set of accessibility features, with over 60 options, including controller remapping, subtitle size for subtitles, and a navigation assist mode.
