A new report states Ares Ragnarok Released in November.
That’s according to three sources who spoke to Bloomberg on condition of anonymity.
The game has been delayed several times since it was announced in 2020, in part due to production challenges and the Covid pandemic.
Reports on the internet this week claimed that Sony has pushed the game to 2023, but as of press time, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Other reports also pointed out that Sony released the September version, but now it looks like November is the magic month.
Ragnarok comes a few years after the events of God of War (2018). It will show complexity in the interactions between father and son, some of which are due to the revelation of Atreus’ giant legacy and “hidden prophecies seen only by Kratos.”
In the game, Atreus can’t let go of Loki’s role in the upcoming conflict, and while he wants to keep his family safe, he doesn’t want to stand idly by and do nothing amid the tensions in the Nine Realms.
Meanwhile, Kratos still “carries on the wrong knowledge of his past” and hopes to spare Atreus the lessons he’s learned from his conflict with the gods. “
Due to Kratos’ actions at the end of the previous game, the goddess Freya vowed to avenge the death of her son Baldur, and will use all weapons at her disposal against her son’s killer. Thor also lost his son and half-brother, so his anger turned to Kratos and Atreus.
As for the gameplay, Sony Santa Monica says it’s looking forward to new attack abilities, a new Atreus rune summoning, and the return of Kratos’ legendary weapon.
Combat will feature a variety of options, such as using powerful combos, becoming a master of the elements, or using defensive tactics. You can expect new creatures from Norse mythology ready to test your skills.
While in the previous title you had access to six of the nine realms, in this ending of the Norse saga you can access all nine realms.
Sony hasn’t confirmed a release date, but we’ll share with you once we hear about it.
