This year, too, the globally recognized charity speed run marathon was a great success. The speedrunners followed each other for two weeks to raise funds for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

$ 2.75 million is the amount that the Awesome Games Done Quick organization raised at the end of the two-week marathon. More than forty games are scheduled for the tournament opportunity. Like every year, great classics have been mixed up with newer games like Hades.
Due to the circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the AGDQ was only organized online this year. Due to the fine-tuning of the format compared to other editions, the event had some technical issues, but these did not prevent it from gaining a consistent audience. As every year, the event was broadcast in French French restream.
This time, it didn’t break last year’s record when more than $ 3.3 million was given. However, the sum remains considerable and, despite the difficult organizational conditions, corresponds to the average annual donation for the event.
While awaiting the return of the AGDQ in 2022, The SDGQ summer edition is already planned for August 16. It will take a week and will also take place online a priori. The date was postponed due to the pandemic.
Event Director Sumichu made some comments after thanking the many partners, attendees, and donors of the event that has been eagerly awaited by the video game community for 11 years.
The GDQ team is cautiously entering the year 2021 […] We know that there have been many difficulties and more are to come.
The team, supported by the Speedrun community, will continue to build what we have and pursue our mission: to show exceptional talent for great causes.
