Game news Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart PS5: The various graphics modes confirmed at startup

Published on 06/07/2021 8:54 am

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is expected on PS5 in 4 short days and will benefit from multiple graphics modes, as announced by Insomniac Games. However, we weren’t sure if we would have access to these different modes at startup.

By two tweets Released on its official account, Insomniac Games has confirmed that players who purchase Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart after its release will be able to choose between three viewing modes thanks to a last-minute update provided by the studio.

Players who update Ratchet PS5 on launch day will be able to access our Performance and Performance RT modes. (…). All three modes use a dynamic base resolution which then goes through our temporal injection process to get a 4K image. This is similar to how Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales works on PS5.

In concrete terms, this means that when it is released, players have the option of choosing between 4K with 30 fps, the performance mode with 60 fps and the performance RT mode, which juggles both.
