Red Dead Redemption 2 could bring a big surprise

Big, Bring, Dead, Red, Redemption, surprise

What if Rockstar and Take-Two granted a wish from Red Dead Redemption 2 players? A surprise could be announced in the near future.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 the level for the Cowboy license from Rockstar Games has been raised even higher. Although some sometimes regretted an illusory freedom, the proposal did not leave people indifferent. The studio and publisher managed to sell more than 67 million copies, which is a great success, especially since the game sells over the long term and releases one of the most popular and highest rated titles of all time, with a Metacritic of 97/100. If Red Dead Online's multiplayer continues to feature free content, players will want a version optimized for the current generation of consoles.

Will Red Dead Redemption 2 return in the coming months?

Red Dead Redemption 2 was only released on PS4, Xbox One and PC, but it is possible to play it on PS5 and Xbox Series thanks to backwards compatibility. However, since it is not a native version, there are no improvements that take advantage of the technological advances of the consoles, such as ray tracing, shorter loading times, etc. And yet many gamers and gamers want a native version. According to a leaked Microsoft document, Take-Two Interactive should have offered a remastered version for the PS5 and Xbox Series some time ago. So what happened? Impossible to know, but the Red Dead Redemption 2 Remastered rumor is being revived today by a discovery on a French online trading site.

Reddit user Future31 noticed that Fnac has put up a page dedicated to the Nintendo Switch 2, affecting several publishers such as Bethesda, Square Enix, Bandai Namco… and Take-Interactive. Although games are not specifically listed, a link to Red Dead Redemption was established via EAN codes that roughly correspond to the product identity card.

After investigating and researching, Twitter user Bouboune discovered that one of the codes on this list was very similar to that of the French version of Read Dead Redemption 1 on Switch. Additionally, Take-Two appears to have at least two games in store for the Big N's next console… including Red Dead Redemption 2? Given that the first game is already available in the remaster version, this is a possibility. As for the second game, it's a mystery. GTA 5? GTA 6?
