In Red Dead Redemption 2, if you decide not to side with the law and therefore merrily loot as quickly as possible, you will have to find fences (or fences in the original language) in order to resell your goods there. We explain how this works in this article.
What are fences used for in RDR2?
In Red Dead Redemption 2 you will deal with many merchants who can buy your goods. The problem, is that every time you try to resell any type of object, you will receive a categorical rejection.
In fact, honest sellers will never buy the items you stole. From then on, you can either keep them with you or store them in the camp’s communal box. The problem, You won’t be able to do anything else with it.
Luckily, there is a specific type of merchant that allows you to sell these goods: fences. Over and beyond They also offer you services with items that you can only get through them
To unlock these fences, you must make at least one progression in Red Dead Redemption 2’s main adventure. In fact, you won’t be able to resell your stolen items for a while. Therefore, we recommend that you keep them in camp.
More specifically, it is the “Wound of Self-Esteem” quest that you need to complete. Once this is completed, You need to return to camp and start a discussion with Susan Grimshaw. This will take you to a new quest with Hosea.
During this quest titled “An American-Style Alliance,” you will need to steal a cart and go through a fence to resell it. Once this quest is completed, congratulations, You have just unlocked the fences in the game.
All fence locations
If you have completed the previous mission you have found the first fence in Red Dead Redemption 2, but you know that there is not just one on the map, quite the opposite. In fact, You can find them in five different locations in the game.
However, as you can see from the map above, most of Red Dead Redemption 2’s fence locations are located in the southeast quarter of the map. All you have to do is go to one of them to sell your goods.
