Redfall: Still getting the final update including offline mode

Final, including, Mode, offline, Redfall, update

After the surprising studio closure, a final update for the vampire shooter Redfall is now set to be released. This will also include an offline mode in order to keep the title playable in the future.

There was a lot of excitement when Microsoft unexpectedly closed four Bethesda studios, including Arkane Austin. They recently released the vampire shooter Redfall, which is generally considered a flop; However, this circumstance is said not to have had a significant influence on the closure.

Nevertheless, this was obviously annoying for Redfall buyers, after all, not all of the promised content had been delivered – which is why there are also partial refunds – and a major update that was said to be quite advanced was initially shelved. Now there is a big turnaround: Despite the closure of the development studio, the final patch for Redfall will still be published.

The team thanked them again for their support via social media before confirming the planned release of the update. “We are working on releasing our final update, Game Update 4, which brings with it revamped Neighborhood and Nest systems, pausing in single player, offline mode and more. We will share more details soon. We thank you all !” it says there.

Initially, in the context of the studio closure, it was said that there would be no further updates. The fact that things are now turning out differently can be considered very pleasing for buyers of Redfall. Above all, the promised offline mode guarantees that the single player part will remain playable in the future, even if the game servers are completely switched off at some point. But at least these should remain with us for the time being.

That was nothing – bloodless instead of snappy – video review of Redfall

Redfall has already had a few stumbling blocks, starting with the false assumption that it was “Left 4 Dead with vampires”. Numerous postponements were also not positive, just like the announcement that the 60 fps mode on the Xbox Series X would only be delivered via patch after the release. Now the game is finally here and despite all the problems beforehand, we were excited to see whether Arkane Austin could build on old strokes of genius like Dishonored or Prey. Spoiler: No! Not at all.
