Scarface: The World is Yours is a kind of Grand Theft Auto from 2006, which is based on the film of the same name with Al Pacino. Even now, 14 years later, the title still has dedicated fans. In addition to an unofficial patch, they also started to remaster the entire game.
Fan remaster for the license GTA
On March 28, the modder Killah uploaded a first version of his planned remaster. His goal is to revise the entire game in the future and to prettify it for modern systems. So far, the project contains only a few changes:
- A revision of Tony's villa
- A new font
- New Scarface titles
Much of the game remains untouched in the current version.
Unofficial patch never fixes bugs
The game has many graphics problems, especially on modern systems. There are workarounds for them, but they have their own disadvantages. CookiePLMonster has therefore spread and published a patch via Github. He takes care of the following bugs:
- Fixed severe graphics bugs, causing the game to run again on modern multicore systems
- Allows the game to use all cores of the CPU, which leads to better performance
- An unused multithreaded flag was removed, which could improve the performance a little
- D3D resources get a cache, which should reduce stuttering in the open world
- The game now shows all available resolutions
- Game settings are now saved in a Settings.ini instead of the registry

GTA 6 with drug cartel setting: how credible is the leak?
The modder finances his work through the Patreon website. However, he refrains from exclusive publications for supporters. There is also no early access. His work is available completely free of charge. So if you want to play the classic again, you can simply use this patch in the future instead of using the numerous additional tools.
