Capcom Added some pointless microtransactions to Resident Evil 4 Remake that let you instantly unlock exclusive upgrades for any weapon.
Obviously, Resident Evil 4 Remake is not an online service game. It’s not an online game or anything. So why it just received some DLC that serves no purpose other than unlocking better versions of weapons earlier than normal is anyone’s guess (ahem, we all know why, ahem). Each weapon in Resident Evil 4 Remake has unique upgrades that drastically improve it, and each weapon has stats that differ from each other. For example, Matilda has double the ammo capacity, while Handcannon has unlimited ammo.
Usually, if you want to buy their exclusive upgrades, you have to max out the weapon’s regular upgrades first. These weapon tickets let you skip all of that, though, so you can unlock exclusive upgrades whenever you want. It could indeed save you as much as 100,000 pesetas if you desperately need any upgrades.
“For gun lovers, knife collectors, and lovers of weapons of all kinds: here’s your ticket to a gun show!” reads the DLC’s description. “Specially a ticket redeemed at the Merchant Shop. With it, you get exclusive upgrades for your weap on at any time, regardless of its tier. Not only that, but once unlocked, the upgrade itself is free!” Free Points & Games Depending on the domestic currency, the price of one ticket is £2.49, the price of three tickets is £5.78, and the price of five tickets is £7.99.
To be clear, you can easily beat the game without unlocking any of these upgrades, so don’t feel like you need to pick them up in order to do so, even on the harder difficulties.
These microtransactions launch on the same day as the new Mercenaries mode, a classic mode that challenges you to survive as long as possible against hordes of enemies.
