Last night there were plenty of details and announcements about Resident Evil 8: Village. Capcom has now also commented on the technical implementation of the new horror game on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.
Those who want to enjoy the new Resident Evil 8: Village on the current PS5 and Xbox Series X / S consoles will of course benefit from technical improvements on the more powerful new platforms. How this is expressed in concrete terms in key technical data has now also been presented by Capcom.
Both on PS5 and Xbox Series X, a 4K resolution with HDR support at 60 frames per second is generally targeted. However, this only applies if ray tracing is deactivated. If you also want to make use of this, the frame rate is only limited to 45 fps.
On the Xbox Series S, the 4K resolution is not achieved; gamers have to be content with 1440p at 45 fps here. If ray tracing is activated, only 30 fps are possible here. The attached infographic gives a better overview of all options:
As you can see, Capcom is also using the older generation of consoles. On the PS4 Pro there is therefore 1080p and 60 fps, on the classic PS4 and Xbox One versions 900p and 45 fps.
Resident Evil 8: Village will be available on May 7, 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
