Game news Resident Evil 9: Capcom teases the first details of the scenario
The Resident Evil franchise has never been in better shape and we therefore expect that the ninth episode will be revealed one day: just to keep us waiting and also to make the community think, Capcom has delivered a very interesting thing when it the planned single player expansion for Resident Evil Village.
Winter isn’t coming
Thanks to Resident Evil VII, Capcom has managed to bring a great freshness to the saga thanks to a subjective point of view and a return to the roots that supports the horror. A formula revisited last year with the Village episodethe game once again focuses on Ethan Winters, already the hero of the previous part.
Obviously, we could expect Resident Evil 9 – which we doubt in development or in any case planned by the studio – be turned to the Winters family again : a theory more than likely given that Rose Winters, Ethan’s daughter, will be playable in the upcoming Village expansion.
Except that actually… It seems that this DLC called Shadows of Rose is here “Concluding the Winters family saga”. The words come straight from producer Masachika Kawata, who spoke over IGN’s mic, so are completely official. Therefore, to believe it, Resident Evil 9 would take one or more different figureheads.

We recall that last August, a potential leak broadcast on 4chan suggested that Resident Evil 9 would actually be called Resident Evil Apocalypse: The action would then take place in a ghost town where monsters are legion. So we’re talking about Goatmen and Wendigos, while some kind of witch would be the main antagonist with the return of the occult.
The post also claimed that the adventure would mark the end of an iconic franchise character., which brings us back to Masachika Kawata’s words: maybe the hero or heroine would actually be a well-known head of the series, like Chris Redfield, who was present in Resident Evil Village, and that the Arc Winters would really be complete. We assume that fans will have no problem forming their theories while waiting for more information from the Osaka company.
