A renowned insider has spoken out about the upcoming Resident Evil 9 and is still hoping for a fairly timely release – even though there have recently been reports to the contrary.
Capcom is almost certainly currently working on Resident Evil 9, which has not yet been officially announced. A recent insider report, however, did not necessarily give hope that the new horror part will be able to be played in a timely manner and referred to an internal postponement of the game .
Now, however, another very well-known insider and industry expert is opposing this, namely Dusk Golem. According to him, the game may still be presented and published soon. While the other report mentioned spoke of a postponement beyond 2025, Dusk Golem is now even bringing January 2025 into play as a possible release period.
The well-known Resident Evil leaker now says via social media: “I’ve heard some good news and rumors that I can share regarding Resident Evil 9. It should be unveiled fairly soon and will be released next year. If that’s what I heard before If it holds, then it should be ready in January.”
Which of the two insiders will ultimately be right in view of the contradictory reports remains to be seen, but it could become clear shortly – if the presentation of the new game actually takes place shortly, as Dusk Golem emphasizes. The summer showcases, especially in June, would certainly provide a suitable stage.
In the end, with Dusk Golem, the insider who was probably a bit more reliable in the past could actually be right about the rather early release. Reason: According to him, Resident Evil 9 has now been in development for seven years – and that’s a pretty monumental number for a Resident Evil game. Accordingly, this part is said to have started in 2018, because the game was originally planned as Resident Evil 8. However, this plan was thrown out and Resident Evil: Village was released as the eighth part of the series in 2021. Both titles are said to have been in the works at the same time.
Even better for fans of the franchise: Finally, Dusk Golem also emphasizes that other games in the series have recently received the green light. There are several different Resident Evil titles actively in the works.
