Gaming News Resident Evil: Discover Spencer’s iconic mansion, more beautiful than ever!
The first Resident Evil is a real emblem and you could almost see Spencer Manor as a character in its own right: so fans can rejoice because a fan has completely rebuilt it under Unreal Engine 5. And the result is more than impressive.
A mortal abode
in 1996, Capcom redefined the codes of horror (and some of the video games as such) with Resident Evil leading the name
The main location of events in RE1, Spencer Manor (or Arklay Manor) belonged to Oswell E. Spencer, the head of the pharmaceutical company Umbrella. In it, the STARS will uncover the sinister plans of the multinational corporation trapped in its many corridors and rooms engulfed in darkness and hemoglobin. Even if it almost made us incontinent, the Spencer Manor, we still love it very much.
back to hell
In 2002 Capcom already offered it a great remake of the first Resident Evil on GameCube, where we could then rediscover Spencer Manor with brand new graphics (By the way, the port of the title is still available in HD). Today, We can finally see what it might look like under Unreal Engine 5.
This unofficial work is brought to us by Team Arklay, a team of passionate developers and Resident Evil fans. Then a lengthy video lingers, room by room, corridor by corridor, to assemble the iconic residence under Epic Games’ super powerful engine. There are therefore emblematic environments sublimated for the occasion.
Currently and for years Capcom isn’t really used to the Unreal Engine as it uses the RE Engine, its own engine that works wonders (see video above). It was he who was used for many of the last episodes with a stunning rendering, especially indoors. The great Devil May Cry 5 also used it to tell the adventures of Dante and Nero.
So rather Unreal Engine 5 or RE Engine?
