Game news Resident Evil Village: Capcom releases an update on its survival horror sale
Resident Evil Village has been in the market for several months now and is calmly continuing its momentum and continuing to sell on pallets. Capcom therefore had the opportunity to do a little report to remind everyone that horror always rhymes with profit.
Released on May 7th on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One, Resident Evil Village was arguably one of the most anticipated titles of the year. At least, so is the sales figure, which rose very quickly to three million units sold in launch week and four million a few weeks later on May 26th.
Almost two months later, it is time for the Osaka firm to recreate the accounts. The publisher is therefore on. known Twitter, from his Japanese account that Ethan’s tragic story has now passed the 4.5 million mark in cumulative sales, both in the physical and in the dematerialized market. Survival horror is well on the way to surpassing the important five million mark within a few months if all goes well.
It’s already way better than Resident Evil 3 (2020) results (3.9 million takers for a 2020 release), but still far from the results of Resident Evil VII (2017) or Resident Evil 2 (2019) (2019) with 9.1 million and 8 million sales respectively. Will Village manage to defeat its elders?
