Return to Monkey Island Less than two months after its surprise announcement, there’s more to share. The game was confirmed on Nintendo Switch today as part of a Nintendo Direct. The sequel to the iconic adventure series launches exclusively on Switch with PC.
While today’s trailer offers plenty of gameplay, it sadly doesn’t confirm a release date – other than reaffirming its 2022 goals.
Creator Ron Gilbert announced his return to Monkey Island on April Fools’ Day. The game has been in development for two years at Gilbert’s Terrible Toybox studio. The story takes place after the events of Monkey Island 2.
Gilbert is bringing back a number of original creative teams, including composers Michael Rand, Clint Bajakian and Peter McConnell. Guybrush Threepwood’s original voice actor, Dominic Armato, is also on board. Reutrn to Monkey Island looks like a, um, return
