The largest tech companies are currently meeting at the IFA tech fair in Berlin and presenting their innovations. In addition to new televisions, screens and laptops, other tech innovations will also be presented.
Ring, a subsidiary of Amazon, presented a smart intercom system at the fair that can be easily connected to your existing system. So you should be able to talk to people on the go who are standing in front of the front door. If you are standing in front of the front door yourself and don’t have a key, Rings Intercom could also help you there.
Rings Intercom can do that
The Ring Intercom is a WiFi-enabled extension to an existing intercom system. So you can get notified when someone is at your door and then use the Ring app to chat with the person at the door. This can of course be done at home, but also on the go. If you want to use the function from the couch, you can also connect the Ring Intercom to Alexa and communicate with your guest via the voice assistant.
With the Ring Intercom you should not only be able to speak, but also open doors. That means you can also let visitors in while you’re out and about. It should also be possible to open several doors at the same time if necess ary. Intercom systems with video function are currently not supported.

Just get started
The installation should be particularly easy and possible without structural changes. This means that even as a tenant, you can enjoy a smart intercom system without any major difficulties.
The device is integrated via the home WLAN, it is operated via the Ring app and you don’t seem to need any in-depth knowledge of electronics to connect to the intercom system. The app will show you the exact instructions for your system. So it’s a complete DIY solution for every smart home fan.
The Ring Intercom runs on rechargeable batteries, which are also removable, conveniently eliminating the need for a nearby power outlet. You can check whether Rings Intercom is also compatible with your intercom system find out here.

Open Sesame for Amazon
Since Ring is a subsidiary of Amazon, it is hardly surprising that the developers have built in a special function for Amazon suppliers. The door for parcel carriers from the online giant should open automatically. Time windows and exact parking locations can be defined for this purpose. However, this function is not activated from the start and therefore remains optional.
The function with which you can assign virtual keys to other people could also be particularly interesting. In this way, certain people should be granted (temporary) access to your apartment or house. Every opening process and every interaction is logged. However, this function will only be added later with an update.

From September 28, 2022 you should open the intercom Ring.com or Amazon for 130 dollars. Delivery will then begin on October 26, 2022.
