Roblox CEO explains the three-day interruption

Incredibly popular gaming service Rob Rox It experienced nearly three days of continuous downtime of its servers. Now, the company’s CEO has come out to explain what happened and reassure the community.

It seems that a “subtle error” caused the interruption. As Roblox founder and CEO David Baszucki said in his blog post: “This is a particularly difficult outage because it involves a combination of factors. The core systems in our infrastructure are overwhelmed. This is It is caused by a subtle error in our back-end service communication under high load conditions. This is not due to external traffic peaks or any special experience. It is a failure caused by the increase in the number of servers in our data center. The result is the majority of Roblox The service cannot communicate and deploy effectively.”

Now that the game is back online, the company is looking to bring economic benef its to the community-players can buy and sell items called Robux virtual currency, service interruption means sales interruption. Prior to this, there were rumors that the $1 million burritos given away by Chipotle promotions were the main culprit for the power outage, but Roblox quickly denied this claim.

Roblox is a very popular game with more than 100 million active users, and the company seems to be eager to port it to other platforms. The game even hosted a Lil Nas X concert.

Roblox is now available for PC, Xbox One and mobile devices.
