Nvidia’s RTX 4000 series graphics cards have been on the market for almost half a year and the distribution among gamers is still limited. The most popular Ada Lovelace graphics card, the Geforce RTX 4090, is currently installed in only 0.3 percent of all PCs on Steam. This is followed by the Geforce RTX 4080 with 0.19 percent (via Februar 2023 Steam Survey).
Historically, Nvidia’s ’60s cards have always been the most popular among gamers, and with the release of the RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti, Ada-Lovelace could soon hit the mainstream. According to the latest reports, the two entry-level graphics cards should only be a few weeks away.
Release in May is imminent
Rumors have been circulating for a long time that the Geforce RTX 4060 (Ti) could appear in May. Well want Wccftech learned from their sources that Nvidia is indeed aiming for a May release. These would appear just about a month after the release of the Geforce RTX 4070, which is expected for April 13th.
Both graphics cards are said to use the 16-pin 12VHPWR connector, which has also been used in all other RTX 4000 graphics cards so far. The board partners will be free to use the new power connec tor or to use conventional 8-pin connectors.
Installing “normal” 8-pin connectors is said to be a lot cheaper, which is why many board partners could probably rely on them. The TGP of the RTX 4060 Ti is said to be around 160 watts, which is around 25 percent lower than the Geforce RTX 3060 Ti.
If you want to know more about the supposed performance of the Geforce RTX 4060 Ti, take a look here:
Little is known about the RTX 4060 (without Ti). It is said to use the AD107-400-A1 chip, the same one that powers the RTX 4060 laptop GPU. 3,072 CUDA cores and 8.0 GB of GDDR6 memory are expected. These run at 18 Gbps with a 128-bit memory interface, which corresponds to a bandwidth of 288 GB/s. The TGP should be 115 watts.
Both graphics cards could hit store shelves in a matter of weeks, even if it reportsthat the release date of the RTX 4060 without Ti addition has not yet been secured by Nvidia. A price has not yet been set, but the RTX 4060 Ti could cost 500 dollars and the RTX 4060 around 400 dollars.
There are also interesting new rumors about the RTX 4050, which is one performance level below, which you will soon learn more about at GameStar.de.
