The rumor mill doesn’t want to stop at the moment, as a new rumor has come out claiming medium developer Team Bloober researching one Silent Hill 2 remake.
Earlier this week, Konami removed some of the leaked images of the so-called Silent Hill reboot via the DMCA. While it’s impossible to confirm whether the images are real, the removal is certainly suspicious. Now YouTuber NateTheHate claim A remake of Silent Hill 2 is in development, along with several other Silent Hill projects.
According to NateTheHate, the so-called remake will redo the puzzles, new endings, and will be a limited-time PlayStation console exclusive. On top of that, a new mainline Silent Hill title is apparently in the works, along with a “side ‘story'”, whatever that means.
VentureBeat’s king of rumors, Jeff Grubb, confirmed the claim via his own Twitter account, with some credit. “Here’s something I’ve heard from multiple different sources,” Grubb wrote. “Not all my resources are primary, but everything is queuing. For me, the biggest indicator is what I see queuing Konami Made a big show at E3 last year before exiting. “
Of course, at the moment all of this needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Last week’s alleged leak showed what looked like a new Silent Hill game, but without official confirmation or even seeing the game in action, it’s hard to say definitively what’s in the works. It could also be that the image is fake, but Konami filed a DMCA just to be safe.
Bloober Team has been around for a while, but in recent years has focused more on horror games such as Layers of fear And last year’s The Medium, which even got Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka on board. So it’s clear where the inspiration for it came from.
Here’s what I’ve heard from multiple different sources. Not all my resources are primary, but everything is queued. For me, the biggest metric was what I saw at E3 last year that was consistent with Konami’s big reveal prior to its exit. https://t.co/GzUb3jzrwX
