In a few months there will also be new Ryzen processors without X, which should present themselves as a cheap alternative to the X models that have already been released.
The information comes from the leaker Chi11eddog
who spoke on his Twitter profile yesterday of three new AMD processors that he expects for the first quarter of 2023.
Smaller clock, smaller prices
In detail, the leaker expects the following three models, which are counterparts to three Ryzen 7000X CPUs that have already been released:
- Ryzen 9 7900 5.4 GHz
- Ryzen 7 7700 5.3 GHz
- Ryzen 5 7600 5.1 GHz
However, there will probably not be a cheaper variant of the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X. How did that fare in our test? Here you can find out.

In a comment on his tweet, the leaker also claims that all three CPUs are expected to have a capped default power consumption of 65 watts. In comparison: The Ryzen 9 7900X has a TDP of 170 watts.
The maximum clock rate also differs slightly. While the Ryzen 9 7900 and the Ryzen 5 7600 have a clock rate that is 200 MHz lower than the X models, the Ryzen 5 7600 is content with 100 MHz less.
According to Chi11eddog, the Ryzen 5 7600 will cost $229. From there, it’s going up in $100 increments, with the Ryzen 7 7700 scheduled for $329 and the Ryzen 9 7900 for $429.

We will probably find out what the leak is ultimately about at CES 2023 from January 8th, 2023. If Chi11eddog is right, AMD will probably announce the three AM5 processors there.
