SaGa Frontier Remastered is a re-release of the PlayStation RPG classic game released by Square Enix in 1998. It is expected to appear on mobile devices, game consoles and PC next year.
Remaster’s release comes with updated graphics, events, cutscenes, enhancements, and a brand new protagonist. This will be the first time European fans have named it.
How these new events and features will be applied to the scene remains to be seen, but the trailer below provides us with a good overview.
“The 1998 PlayStation classic game is back: SaGa Frontier will be remade for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, iOS and Android, and will be launched in the summer of 2021!” Square Enix has pointed out in the video description.
This game and its peculiar “free-form scene system” was very innovative at the time, and it will be interesting to see how it performs in a modern environment. The closest thing we can make to it is probably “Octopath Traveler”, which is worth it.
