Improvements are coming saints row This year and beyond with bug fixes, new cosmetics, and new content for 2023.
Volition says it’s working on improving the game experience, fixing issues reported by the community, and making more improvements based on player feedback.
Development of additional content has been put on hold for now as the team is prioritizing fixes. You can expect the first major update in late November, which will contain over 200 bug fixes and stability upgrades.
Updates will focus specifically on challenges, overall stability, and collaboration. Solving the co-op issue took longer than expected, but the team is working on it and adding various hints to let players know when co-op is ready.
The November update will also mark the start of a slew of quality-of-life changes and new features for the core game. The update will include many requested improvements, including reducing repetition of certain activities, making challenges more rewarding, improving vehicle management, improving rumble and haptic features, and more.
Volition says bigger and better improvements based on player feedback are also on the way.
If you’re feeling craving for something or the other, the first of a series of cosmetic packs will be released to players this week. Called the Front to Back pack, it will be available for free and available through the relevant platform store.
More free cosmetic packs will be released this year for all players, and several additional cosmetic packs will be available for free for Expansion Pass owners. The Expansion Pass will also be available later this month for players who don’t own the game’s Gold, Platinum, or Notorious editions.
Finally, the studio says it plans to support Saints Row long-term, with “a lot of content” coming in 2023, including a brand new story DLC. Story content will be included in the Expansion Pass, which can be purchased separately. There will also be free new gameplay experiences and urban areas to explore.
All of this will put bigger quality-of-life updates, more free packs, and other free goodies on hold.
Saints Row releases August 23 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
