Originally released for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in 2011, Saints Row: The Third has come a long way. The remastered version of the wacky action game now makes it especially optimized for the new consoles.
After the original release, Saints Row: The Third was already implemented in the form of a remastered version for Xbox One and PS4, but now the new platforms PS5 and Xbox Series X / S are also given special consideration. Deep Silver announced a corresponding free upgrade for these consoles today.
The release of Saints Row: The Third – Remastered for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S should take place on May 25th. In addition, there will be a corresponding release of the game on Steam and GOG.com for the PC a few days beforehand, namely on May 22nd.
On the New Gen consoles you can experience the game with higher power settings, which are equivalent to the PC edition at high settings. The action title then makes better use of the higher performance of the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. Visually, the engine can then run at a much higher performance, which ultimately leads to noticeable improvements in lighting, texture resolution and other visual effects.
In addition, the frame rates have also been increased so that the gaming experience is smoother. As a result, you can look forward to 60 fps with a dynamic 4K resolution in the future.
On the Xbox Series S there is at least an additional option that allows you to enjoy the game in two modes. In performance mode, playback takes place at 1080p at 60 fps, while in beauty mode you get an upscaled 4K resolution at 30 fps.
Anyone who has already bought the remastered version will receive a free upgrade for the new platforms.
