Impressive photos of the moon are often possible with Samsung mobile phones – without a tripod or additional equipment. But apparently the South Korean manufacturer is cheating, as a fan now shows.
With the Galaxy S23 Ultra and other Samsung cell phones, you can take impressive photos of the moon – without having to dig through the camera parameters in Pro mode or screw the cell phone onto a tripod. It is enough to zoom in on the moon and pull the trigger, as the following YouTube video shows.
However, a fan of the South Korean manufacturer is now open Reddit
AI apparently adds details
How can that be? According to the fan, Samsung apparently uses an AI that recognizes that you want to photograph the moon. It was previously trained with hundreds of images of the moon and uses these to add details such as craters to the motif.
Also interesting…
Samsung isn’t the only manufacturer convicted of “trickery” in moon photos. In 2019 there was a similar debate about moon photos taken with the Huawei P30. This has not damaged the reputation of the Huawei P30 Pro as an excellent camera phone. And with the S23 Ultra, too, many people probably don’t care how the beautiful moon photo was taken.
