Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone does not run smoothly for some testers. Editors noticed stuttering in the menu and poor processor performance. It’s about the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which you can currently pre-order from around 1,250 dollars and which will be released on February 25th.

Also the YouTuber iKnowReview struggles with similar difficulties as Computerbase. When asked by a Twitter user if he might have gotten a Monday device, he replies that he’s having issues with several versions of the S22 Ultra:

However, not all editorial offices report stuttering with the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Some Europe and international reviews of the smartphone do not mention the problems at all. So not all devices seem to be affected.
It’s also worth noting that the S22 Ultra will be released in Europe with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2200 processor, while the rest of the world will get the phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The software seems to be the source of the error
A possible explanation could be that the flagship smartphone’s software is not properly configured on the Exynos 2200. Because we have not heard any complaints about the performance or stuttering from colleagues from overseas with Qualcomm processors.
However, that’s a bit strange, since one would think that Samsung would rather tune the software to the in-house processor. Kilian also suspects the error in the software. He writes on Twitter There must be something in the software

The problems appear to only occur with the S22 Ultra, not its siblings, the S22 and S22 Plus, which run on the same software. SwagTab points out in its video that the S8 had similar software issues that were only fixed weeks later via software update.
It is not yet known when such an update will come for the S22 Ultra. The release of the S22 Ultra is expected on February 25th and it’s not long until then. It is therefore possible that the problems of the S22 Ultra will remain at least until the release.
Colleague Alex recently considered switching from his iPhone to Android. With the S22 Ultra, however, he will probably first have to wait for troubleshooting.
