Manga fans have reason to be happy, because the well-known series “Sand Land” by Akira Toriyama is now to receive fresh implementations in several respects.
Shortly before Christmas, Bandai Namco had quite relevant news for manga fans among you, because with “Sand Land” a well-known franchise is now to be implemented in a variety of ways. The new IP based on Akira Toriyama’s manga will appear more frequently in the entertainment sector in the future – starting with an animated series.
Under the umbrella term Sand Land Project, this animation series is now being created in cooperation with various partners. Here Bandai Namco Filmworks’ Sunrise Studio, Kamikaze Douga Co. and ANIMA Inc. work together to bring them to life. However, there is no specific start date as of today.
Further entertainment implementations are to follow in the period that follows in order to help Sand Land achieve a full IP. This should probably also include game conversions, although they are still silent on this, at least for the moment. There is almost no other way to explain the integration of Bandai Namco.
“Sand Land” is a manga by Akira Toriyama, the author of “Dragon Ball” and “Dr. Slump”. Published in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2000, the one-volume manga has garnered worldwide popularity since its release. In a desert world where both demons and humans suffer from extreme water shortages, Beelzebub, the prince of demons, and Rao, a small-town sheriff, form a duo and embark on a quest to find the Phantom Lake lying somewhere in the desert should lie.
