Crucial MX500: Boost your gaming PC’s storage space with this benchmark SATA SSD
With 4 TB of storage space, you’ll have peace of mind for a long time! Especially since we have an excellent Sata SSD from Crucial by Micron here: the MX500. Thanks to its very good properties, it is suitable both for a PC gamer and for reviving an old computer that was only equipped with an HDD as main memory.
You should know that when it comes to storage, three main technologies coexist. From oldest to newest there are: HDDs (hard disk drives), Sata SSDs and NVMe SSDs. In the same order, you also have the performance, which is essential, especially for gaming where NVMe SSDs are kings. Logically, HDDs are generally the cheapest of the three, and the most expensive technology is NVMe. Finally, it should be noted that mass storage is the prerogative of HDDs, the technology that can store the most and has the most attractive price/storage ratio.
Sata SSDs are between the two, with enough performance for gaming, a fair price and good storage space. The other advantage is that thanks to their 2.5-inch size, they can easily replace old HDDs on fixed or portable PCs, literally bringing them back to life. In fact, the increase in speed between an SSD and an HDD is so significant (especially on older models) that booting and launching your software is much faster and more efficient.
Especially since here we have one of the great references of Sata SSDs: the Crucial MX500, which is excellent. Its sequential read and write speeds also reach 560MB/s and 510MB/s. Guaranteed for 5 years, you have 4TB of storage space here, a good period of rest as primary or secondary storage.
