Google Maps is increasingly becoming an indispensable companion for drivers. A new feature aims to help reduce the stress caused by traffic jams.
- Google Maps is continually being optimized for drivers.
- Android users in Germany have now received a very practical feature.
- This helps to save time and protect your nerves.
Google has updated its navigation app Google Maps with an import ant update. German drivers have been waiting for a long time for the patch to be available in this country. Now it’s finally here, at least on Android.
A new button has appeared on Google Maps on that operating system, which is particularly useful for drivers. After you have started a route, you will find the new button on the right side of the screen, directly below the map orientation buttons. The button is shaped like a triangle.
With the new button you can now report traffic disruptions directly via Google Maps. So if others report a traffic jam, you should now be able to recognize it in time and avoid it.
Report various obstacles
As soon as you press the button, a list opens from below in which different types of faults such as “accident”, “traffic jam”, “lane closed”, “breakdown” or “object on the road” are displayed. You can then select the relevant malfunction with another tap.
No update for iOS yet
While Android users can enjoy this practical feature, iOS fans still have to wait for the corresponding update. The button has not yet arrived in Google Maps for Apple’s operating system. But it will also appear there, like the technology blog GSMArena
Ultimately, the new functions should be available for all Google Maps applications worldwide – and can be used on Android and iOS devices as well as in cars with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
